Running at my MAF pace is boring. How can I make it more fun?
Looking at the big picture may be an important thing you can do. By training "slower" you should be inspired, and challenged!
Inspired because you've found a major problem (poor aerobic function) which you now have the challenge to correct. You're not only going to be faster (at the same heart rate), but more fit (to race better) and healthier.
That means a great deal!
